The map contains the entire city of San Francisco and is one of our densest maps (in terms of letters per inch) showing the largest highways at 12 pt and the smallest surface streets at 6 pt condensed. The Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay are also depicted using a modern take on an old fashioned ‘water line’ mapping technique. Although not mapped directly, the famous hilly topography of the city is clearly seen in the twists and curves of many of the streets.
The map is based on place names and geography as they appear in OpenStreetMap.
